This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. We are committed to privacy-first practices.

Scope and Data Controller

This Policy applies to the DateSure mobile app and website (the "Service"). The data controller is DateSure. Contact: support@datesure.app.

Information We Collect

  • Account and Authentication: Anonymous identifiers and tokens to operate your account.
  • Usage Data: Basic product events (e.g., recent searches) to provide features and improve reliability.
  • Device/Log Data: IP address, device type, app version, and diagnostics for security and debugging.
  • Payments: If you purchase a subscription, the App Store/Google Play process payment details; we receive confirmation metadata (not full card data).
  • Communications: Emails you send to support.
  • Public Source Data: Links and snippets from publicly available websites relevant to your search.

We do not request access to your contacts, photos, or precise GPS location.

How We Use Information

  • Provide and maintain the Service, including search, summaries, and history.
  • Improve reliability, performance, and user experience.
  • Detect, prevent, and address abuse, fraud, or security issues.
  • Communicate with you about updates, support, and policy changes.
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms.

Sources

We surface public web sources only and respect platforms' terms. We do not access private accounts, scrape behind logins, or track you across apps.

Sharing and Processors

We do not sell your personal data. We share information with service providers who process it on our behalf to operate the Service (e.g., hosting, analytics, payments). These providers are bound by contractual obligations to protect your information.

We may disclose information if required by law, to protect rights and safety, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.

International Transfers

Your information may be stored and processed in countries other than your own. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.

Data Retention

We retain information for as short a period as practical:

  • Recent searches: typically 30-90 days (on-device and/or account-linked), then deleted or anonymized
  • Logs/diagnostics: typically 30-90 days unless needed for security or legal compliance
  • Billing metadata: retained per store requirements

You can delete your account at any time in Settings. You may also request removal of surfaced links that relate to you by emailing support@datesure.app.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights over your information, including:

  • Access, correction, and deletion
  • Portability and restriction of processing
  • Objection to processing based on legitimate interests
  • Withdrawal of consent where processing is based on consent

Region-Specific Rights (GDPR/CCPA)

EEA/UK: Our lawful bases include contract and legitimate interests. You have rights to access, delete, correct, port, and object. Contact us to submit a data subject request.

California (CCPA/CPRA): We collect identifiers (install ID), usage data (interactions, diagnostics), and contact information you provide (support). Purposes: app functionality, analytics, support, security. We do not sell or share personal information as defined by the CCPA. You may request access or deletion by emailing support.

Children

The Service is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided information, we will delete it. Parents/guardians can request removal via support@datesure.app.

Do Not Track

We do not respond to Do Not Track signals. You can manage certain tracking preferences via your device settings.

No Sale or Rental of Data

We do not sell or rent personal information. We share data only with service providers as described above.

Law Enforcement Requests

We respond to valid legal process. Requests must be narrowly tailored and include appropriate legal authority. For emergencies involving risk of serious harm, contact us and include sufficient details so we can assess the request.

Takedown and Abuse Reports

Report impersonation, harassment, minors, or sensitive content to support@datesure.app. We will review promptly and may remove or disable links as appropriate.

California Privacy Notice

California residents have certain rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including rights to access, delete, and correct personal information, and to opt out of certain sharing. We do not sell personal information as defined by CCPA. To exercise rights, email support@datesure.app.

We may update this Policy from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, may provide additional notice.
